Press Night

06 September

Our first review for the Face to Face Festival of Solo Performance is in and it’s a good one.

Written by Terry Eastham, you can read it here. It reviews the press launch that took place at The LOST Theatre on 4th September 2014. As part of Claire Dowie’s new company, I performed Claire’s play Adult Child/Dead Child (AC/DC) along with the wonderful Deidre Strath, Tania Rodrigues, Lola Kotey, Martin Stuart and Claire herself.

We opened the press launch with the introduction of AC/DC. The acts that then followed included Peta Lily, Gemskii and 2009 Busker of the Year, Jamie West. As solo performers we start and end amongst the theatre audience, getting up to do our part then returning to watch the whole show – fully immersed. It was a warm “hanging out with friends” atmosphere and a brilliant night.

Next stop for me is Derbyshire for a performance of A Time to Speak before we bring A Time to Speak to the Face to Face Festival, which starts officially on 6th October. The website for the festival is now up and running and packed full of information about everything that is going on (link right here). For my own contribution there is AC/DC on 6th October, A Time to Speak on 8th October and my own piece, Connie Speaks on 10th October.

We patiently wait for the other reviews to arrive (!) but in the meantime, I’m happy to shout about this one.
