Stand up & be counted: Equity UK

16 August

When I left my gorgeous and hard-worked for job as a solicitor to go to drama school with others 10 years my junior I found myself in a panic of feeling very irresponsible. I decided I better join my union and start to do something that reminded me I was a grown-up. I’ve not looked back. Being an Equity Actors Union member has opened doors, gained me fantastic friends and given me professional acting opportunities.

My very wonderful friend and fellow Equity West and South West London Branch member Tara Newton-Wordsworth, invited me to be a guest on her new YouTube Channel “The Review”. Beyond being united by our double-barrelled surnames – we discussed our union activities and general issues in our industry – it’s a crazy world out there but it’s made significantly warmer when you’re in good company.
